I sink into the mood.
Meet what’s underneath the
underneath.
Centimeter by centimeter, I
get
used
to
it.
Lie back in the water.
Pretend.
Disappear.
If I have learned anything these days,
it is that.
The potency of my emotions
winds. me. up.
Ever-so
bitten;
words on the tip of my tongue
taste sharper than I expected them to be.
I run a fingertip along my scars,
multifaceted, deep.
Criss-cross the lines between
sinister and sweet.
Rough with the smooth,
the silent wounds meet;
beautiful, strong,
resilient.
